competitive Exams & Career Guidance

For details of qualified students in competetive exams ---click Here

In order to promote higher education, we at Sree Vahini, provide both Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses. Though we are located in rural area, we aim at promoting higher education in our region. We use induction programme, counselling sessions, overseas education seminars, in-house training programmes and external training programmes to promote higher education.
During the induction programme we explain in detail the scope of each specialization in B.Tech course. The course objectives, career path and scope for further studies are explained during the induction programme. This helps the students to stay focused.
Each faculty member is assigned 15-20 students as mentees for counselling. A record of each student under their mentorship is maintained by our faculty. They identify the strengths and weaknesses of the student and counsel them on the opportunities and threats. Based on various factors like the family back ground, economic and social condition of the student, the mentor provides feedback on the areas of improvement to the student. Students are then advised to either opt for a job, go for higher studies in India or to do MS in other countries.
Seminars on opportunities for higher education in other countries are conducted to provide guidance to students on their next step after completion of under graduate studies. Students gain knowledge on the pre requisites for higher education in foreign countries. Overseas education consultants also inform the students about free education opportunities offered by few countries.
In-house training is provided to the students on aptitude, verbal and non verbal reasoning and soft skills. Students are also provided with information related to websites which provide preparation material for various competitive exams like GATE, GRE, IELTS and TOEFL. Students are encouraged to go continue higher education in India, if they could not afford to go abroad. Group discussions, Just-A-a-Minute sessions and mock interviews are conducted to make the students prepared for future assignments in education and career.
Of late, virtual recruitment has become a new mode of placements. Till few years back students from certain colleges did not have the opportunity to get placed in multinational companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture and Tech Mahindra, due to various reasons like colleges not having NAAC etc. However, today the virtual placement drives are conducted for all eligible students across India. This has open up new opportunities for talented students in colleges like ours. In order to take advantage of this virtual drives, we started Campus Placement Training with special focus on the above named companies. We signed a memorandum of understanding with external training institute specialised in technical training. For students who do not have financial support, getting placed in such companies is one source to go abroad, if they excel in their work place. This is because; there are some companies which provide financial support to their employees who go for higher education in distance mode.
Our efforts to support the students to opt for higher education are slowly bearing results and we aim to improve this process further.
